Four Steps to Cover Up a Tattoo with Makeup

Tattoos are awesome; they are permanent works of art on your skin! However, there are times when you may find it necessary to cover up your visible tattoos, as some people aren’t as accepting of them. Whether you have an upcoming job interview, or are about to meet your significant other’s parents for the first time, these 4 steps will help you hide your tattoo in no time.

What You Need

Before you begin concealing your tattoo, you need to make sure that you have these products:

  • Primer: Primer preps your tattoo for the makeup you are going to be applying. It evens out the skin to provide a smooth canvas for you to work on.
  • Full coverage foundation: As the name suggests, the foundation is the base of your concealing routine. We recommend using a matte finish foundation.
  • A concealer palette: Concealers help to mask skin blemishes (and tattoos) and can be matched to your skin tone.
  • A color-correcting crayon (Optional): Think of this as a spot-cleaning tool. These crayons come in a variety of colors, so you need to make sure that you get the correct color for your tattoo. For example, if your tattoo has red areas in it, you will need a green crayon to counteract them.
  • Face Powder or Setting Spray: Face powder and setting spray help your makeup products stay on all day. You can use both of these for more strength, or just face powder by itself.

Now that you have your makeup products, you can start the tattoo concealing process. However, keep in mind that these products are not waterproof and only offer temporary coverage.

The Four Steps

Step 1: Start with your primer. Apply an even layer over the area. If you have a colored tattoo, you should apply your color correcting crayon after the primer.

Step 2: Time for the foundation! Apply the foundation with a makeup blender to make it smooth and even. Blend outwards and use as much foundation as you need to provide full coverage. Most of your tattoo should be covered after this step.

Step 3: After the foundation, apply the concealer. Your palette should have a shade that closely matches your skin tone. (Experimenting with this beforehand will help you figure out which shade combination works best for you.) This should also be applied with a makeup blender in order to create a seamless look. At this point, the concealer should completely cover your tattoo.

Step 4: To keep your makeup in place all day, use face powder. That way, your foundation and concealer won’t disappear as the hours go by. For extra strength, apply the setting spray after the face powder to make sure that your tattoo stays covered.

Conclusion

The Right Way to Remove Your Makeup

We all like to wake up each morning feeling fresh and ready to take on the day. For that to happen, you absolutely must get in the habit of removing your make and doing it the right way. We’ve put together your complete how-to guide on removing your makeup the right way.

Your Guide to Makeup Removal

Why It Matters

Makeup is a great way to show off your style, your individuality, and cover things like blemishes. We love makeup too! That being said, when you’re sleeping makeup has no place on your face.

Allowing makeup to stay on your skin overnight has a whole litany of problems. First makeup, even the ones that say they’re good for your skin, can cause serious breakouts if left on too long. No one wants to have to deal with acne, especially when it’s preventable. It gets worse, makeup can dry out your skin and even cause collagen to break down causing wrinkles. Nobody wants that.

This doesn’t just apply to things like foundation. Mascara and eye makeup can lead to eye infections, irritation, and broken eyelashes. Yikes!

Cleansers are Your Friends

A daily cleanser is the first step in removing your make up. Simply put it on your skin, making sure to get along the hairline, behind the ears, and under your chin. Let it sit for a few seconds so it can get absorbed. Then gently wipe the makeup away with a wet, cotton pad. Ta-Da!

A Soft Touch

Removing your makeup should always be done gently. Scrubbing your skin will force makeup deeper into your pores, clogging them and causing acne. Likewise, doing so will dry out your skin and remove its natural sheen. Using a cleansing oil before you start will help to lift makeup from your skin and allow it to come off easier. This is especially helpful for getting mascara off of your eyelids, as the skin there is more sensitive.

The Power of Steam

If you have a few extra minutes to get your makeup off, steaming your face before you get started can make a big difference. Fill a bowl with hot water and hover over it. The steam will open pores, making it easier for your cleanser to go deeper to remove dirt and makeup.

The Importance of Moisturizer

So you’ve gone through all the necessary steps of removing your makeup, but you’re not done yet. The last step is one of the most important. Moisturizing your skin after you clean it, replaces the necessary oils and nutrients to your skin that got removed while you were taking your makeup off. A gentle moisturizer will get your skin back in tip-top shape and have you looking recharged first thing you wake up.

Removing your makeup before bed is a must. By taking advantage of a few simple things, you can ensure that you’ll wake up every morning with glowing, perfect skin. When it does come time for makeup, trust Beauty Studio Inc Mobile Hair and Makeup to get you looking your best!

Photo Taking Tips

Practice Makes Perfect

No one is a pro at anything the first time they do it. When it goes to looking great in all your photos, you need to practice. Trying different poses and discovering what types of photos you like to be in, will all help you nail that perfect pic.

Learn those Angles

If you’re like most people, you’re probably not perfectly symmetrical. Therefore, there’s probably one side that shows off your assets the best. Learn that angle. This goes equally for your face as it does for your body. Don’t be afraid to experiment!

Preparation is Key

If you know you’re going to have pictures taken of you, putting in some effort beforehand will make a world of difference. Take the time to pick your outfit, do your hair (or have us do it), put on some makeup or simply do whatever makes you feel the best. This will all come through in your pictures!

Figure out Color

Color plays an important role in your picture. This goes from the color of your outfit to the color of the lighting and ultimately to the filters used in your pictures. So for instance, navy blue might be a great color on one person and look terrible on another. Light bounces off color and will affect how your photo comes out. Keep this in consideration and you’ll be the master of your image in no time.

You are unique and beautiful and you deserve to have that shown off in every picture that you take. Keep these things in mind next time and see the difference they make. Before you take that picture, have Beauty Studio Inc Mobile Hair and Makeup get you photo ready!

Holiday Look Series – Christmas Edition

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Parties, friend gatherings, and family dinners are about to take over your life, and you don’t want to look anything less than trendy! This is especially true for those Christmas parties where you’ll be captured in every photo angle possible. With our aid, however, you don’t have to worry as we’ve scoured all the rising trends for winter 2018 and found the best looks for you this holiday season.

Emeralds and Glitter

When the holidays come rolling around, there is a constant struggle between trying to have a festive look and not wearing red and green. While it’s true those two colors are complementary and festive, it can be a struggle to make them work cohesively when it comes to makeup. That is why one of the most popular looks of this year is green and silver, which lies in between being festive and still looking fabulous! Emerald shades paired with silver are making a blast in the beauty world with the greens staying in theme with the season while silver creates a pop of shine or glitter. Add a nude lip and you’re ready to go rock your office Christmas party!

Glow It Up!

Arm yourself with highlighters and glow-up materials because it’s the Bronze Age again! Having a glowing look is great for parties and get-togethers where you want a bit of extra attention. Keeping your eye shadow pallet primarily in neutral and gold tones with a defining bronzer and attention-grabbing highlighter is perfect for any high-energy party. Getting that dewy, golden glow is one of the top looks that is happening this season, especially during the holidays where the bright lights really make you shine! Finish the look with a light pink or red lip for some color, and your glow-up is ready.

Classic Never Goes Out

Now, this is for all the party-goers who, like us, have waited until the last minute for some Christmas makeup inspiration. If you ever find yourself in a pinch for a makeup look–not just during Christmas–remember these words: “When in doubt, cat-eye it out!” A classic cat-eye paired with a bold red lip is an undisputed staple of the beauty industry. This makeup look is so versatile, it can go with everything from holiday looks to a night out on the town. The red lip keeps you in tune with the festivities, and the cat-eye goes with nearly any outfit that you have in mind. Swoop on your favorite mascara to really show off your eyes and you’re all set.

Conclusion

The holiday season is perfect for showing off all of your beautiful features. Your natural beauty is your best accessory, and with the use of any of the aforementioned looks, your favorite features will really be on display. You’re guaranteed to be the center of attention at any event you attend, so pick your look and wear it with confidence

Holiday Look Series – New Year’s Edition

As if the last day of the year weren’t reason enough to look your best, this year’s New Year’s Eve trends are already rising to the top of glam diva’s to-do lists. You do not want to leave your look inspiration to the last minute, because the hottest parties and gatherings of the year will capture you from all angles.

We took a look at what trends everyone is raving about, and we selected the very best for you to get inspired. New Year’s is all about silver, gold, and glitter, but it can also serve as your moment to establish the new and better you. Be bold and daring, and ring in the New Year with these 2019 trends!

Natural Beauty

Natural beauty started to become a trend at the end of 2018, but how far will you take your commitment to love yourself flaws and all? Be the talk of the night showing up to your NYE plans with the bare minimum makeup look. That does not mean that you rolled out of bed and called it enough. The natural look is all about enhancing your best features and highlighting them for everyone to see how confident you are.

We recommend outlining your eyebrows right under the hairline to avoid adding more shape. Lightly stroke in between the hair follicles that look bare, to make your brows voluminous. Match the color of your cheeks with a non-glitter cream blush and use a non-glitter highlight over it for a dewy skin look. Add a nude lip that best matches your skin tone to give a non-chapped look. Two to three coats of mascara and you will look like a confident queen!

Party Princess

Who cares about the disco ball, when you are the belle of the ball? Too much glitter does not exist on New Year’s Eve, especially if your countdown will take place at the hottest party in town. Let yourself be known and strut into 2019 claiming your throne!

We suggest a glitter eye-shadow with the color of your choice, though you can never go wrong with disco ball silver. Don’t wing your look for the night, but do be fierce with your eyeliner wing. Let everyone know that the party does not start until you walk in, and let your wing be as long as your lashes. On that note, this is the perfect night to glue on your wildest eyelash extensions. We suggest ones with rhinestones on the waterline.

New Year’s Kiss

Everyone wants to get kissed when the ball drops and rings in the New Year. It gives you an exhilarating expectation of what’s yet to come. Make yourself irresistible with this look!

It’s all about the eyelashes and lips! Try a bright lipstick color like red, pink, or purple. Give yourself fanning luscious lashes with eyelash extensions or an ultra-volume mascara. This is an especially daring look if you’re attending a masquerade ball where only your eyes and lips will be visible!

Conclusion

Which look will you be approaching 2019 with? With plenty of time to prepare, you want to make sure that you know what your intentions are for the New Year. A glamorous and personality-matching look will be the perfect push that you need to motivate yourself for a “new year, new you!”

Three Benefits from Choosing a Professional Make Up Artist for Your Wedding!

This is it! Your big day is coming up, the day where you and your partner will celebrate your love in front of all those you hold dear! Now is when you are going through the nearly endless list in your mind: dress? Catering? Venue? Theme? One thing that may have slipped your mind is, in fact, one of the most important items of them all.

As this day is going to be immortalized through photos and videos, you need to be sure that your hair and makeup are done to absolute perfection! Bridal make-up is very different from what we wear every day, it needs to be of a higher quality and last much longer than standard all-day wear looks. While you may be thinking of DIYing your make-up and hair, here are just a few of the many benefits of hiring a professional make-up artist for your wedding day.

Less Worry

Your big day is a madhouse from the minute the guests start entering the venue until you and your newlywed partner are whisked off to your honeymoon. Nerves run high and some things are bound to go astray; your makeup is one thing that you do not need to go wrong! By enlisting the skills of a professionally-trained make-up artist, your bridal look is one thing you can nail down and be worry-free about.

Additionally, going through a professional make-up artist tends to be more cost effective than buying the product and proper tools yourself, as the high-grade makeup look that this special day demands can be very expensive. With all the hectic activity going on, take it easy on yourself and make this one thing you don’t have to think about. Another major benefit of going through a professional make-up artist is having a look of cohesion amongst your bridesmaids if you choose to get a make-up artist/artists to service you and your bridesmaids. This creates an even more unified look for photographs and for the wedding ceremony since the whole bridal party will have a similar make-up style applied.

Photos, Portraits, and Selfies

The camera shutters are not going to stop for one moment on your wedding day, and you – the bride – will be the absolute center of attention. Your makeup needs to not only be perfectly applied and set, but the products you use need to be of high quality! Keep in mind that when it comes to make-up types, all brands are not created equal and some brands do not photograph favorably.

I’m sure you have heard of the make-up slang regarding photo issues? Phrases like ‘blow-back,’ or ‘white-face?’ This comes from the use of make-up brands that aren’t photo or flash friendly, giving off a pale or a white-looking image that ruins the photograph. This occurs due to poor-make up application, wrong foundation tone and by using foundations that have SPF protection infused within the formula.

Conclusion

All in all, there are many benefits from using this type of service. You will look incredible, your photos should turn out perfect, but even more importantly, you can save yourself some stress with this cost-effective service. By working with a professional artist, you can rest assured that your bridal look will come out picture perfect!
